South Korea’s Kospi opened 4.22 percent higher on Wednesday morning while Japan’s Nikkei witnessed a jump of over 2 percent in the opening trade. Hang Sheng and China's Shanghai opened 3.37 percent and 1.2 percent up respectively.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the BSE was ruling 17,204.11 points, up 347 points or 2.05 percent compared to its previous close at 16,857.91 points.
