Mumbai’s BSE Sensex index climbed 7.3 per cent to 16,846.83 on hopes of an upturn for domestic growth and foreign fund inflows. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rose 7.6 per cent to 19,040.39 while the index of mainland-listed stocks, or “H” shares, jumped 10.2 per cent 10,350.51. The Shanghai Composite index slipped 0.8 per cent to 2,360.66.
In Seoul, the Kospi index rose 7.9 per cent to 1,916.04 while Sydney’s S&P/ASX 200 index gained 7.6 per cent to 4,2878.00, with mining heavyweight BHP Billiton rising 7.6 per cent to A$36.65. Feel free to forward this Op Ed and follow our Blog stock market news today
