Indonesia stock info Asian stock markets january 13 2012 ; Asian stock markets are higher Friday on news of successful debt auctions in Europe and as the European Central Bank's decision to leave interest rates unchanged suggests officials aren't overly worried about the health of the euro-zone economy.

The positive headlines out of Europe overshadowed a tepid rise in U.S. retails sales for December and a larger-than-expected gain in weekly jobless claims. They helped U.S. stocks end slightly higher Thursday.

"Despite the continued threat of political-event risks, the potential for further ratings downgrades and the upcoming (European Union) summits--all of which have the potential to provide substantial headwinds--the number of threats investors face appear to have subsided from the previous quarter," said Barclays Capital in a note to clients.

Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 1.3%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 added 0.4%, South Korea's Kospi Composite was 0.7% higher and New Zealand's NZX-50 gained 0.2%.

  1. Common share market stock is, well, common(NSE,BSE). When people talk about stocks they are usually referring to this type. In fact, the majority of stock is issued is in this form. We basically went over features of common stock in the last section. Common shares represent ownership in a company and a claim (dividends) on a portion of profits. Investors get one vote per share to elect the board members, who oversee the major decisions made by management. Over the long term, common stock(bse, nse), by means of capital growth, yields higher returns than almost every other investment. This higher return comes at a cost since common stocks entail the most risk. If a company goes bankrupt and liquidates, the common shareholders will not receive money until the creditors, bondholders and preferred shareholders are paid Level 3 Data
